Why doesn’t Delta Force have Controller Support on PC yet? As the Delta Force franchise returns with its open beta now live on Steam for PC, players are being left bewildered by the absence of controller support. For those who prefer controllers over the traditional mouse and keyboard setup, it’s natural to wonder when this feature will be introduced and whether Team Jade has made any official comments regarding its availability.
The open beta build of Delta Force doesn’t currently have native controller support. Team Jade commented on its FAQ today suggesting that it won’t be available until Q1 2025, which is when the console versions should be launching.
“We’re working on adding controller support and are aiming to introduce this feature to the game by Q1 2025.”
If you’re using Steam, you can manually enable controller support by following these steps, though it may not be as seamless as native support, you should be able to get it working fairly quickly.
How to activate controller support for Delta Force on Steam
- Right-click on Delta Force in your Steam library sidebar and select ‘Properties…’.
- Click on the ‘Controller’ tab.
- In the ‘Override for Delta Force’ drop-down box, select ‘Enable Steam Input’.
- Ensure your controller is connected and Steam Input is enabled, then click the ‘Controller Configurator’ link above ‘Override for Delta Force’.
Using this method, you should be able to use any third-party controller, as well as official PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S controllers. This will work until official support arrives early next year.
