Wild Hearts Trailer
The Wild Hearts trailer showcases some of the fantastic landscapes that players will traverse as well as the incredible beasts that will need to be slain. Be sure to check out the extended gameplay trailer further down in this Wild Hearts guide to experience seven uninterrupted minutes of what to expect.
Wild Hearts Story
Players are invited to the “beautiful but troubled land of Azuma” inspired by feudal Japan. Wild Hearts will harness ancient tech to defeat ancient beasts in what EA Vice President Stuart Lang is calling, “the first AAA hunting experience for a new generation”.
In this futuristic spin on the monster hunting genre, players are tasked with restoring the land that has now been taken over by the once peaceful Kemono. The Kemono are now composed of monsters from plant-infused squirrels to massive Kingtusk wild boar to a fire-wielding Lavaback, all of which can alter the landscape around them.
After a fight with the winter wolf Deathstalker, players now have the ability to use a life-sustaining technology that means they are the ones who are able to restore the balance across the region. It appears to do so, players will take on each Kemono, strengthening their attack and weaponry to take on harder beasts.
Wild Hearts Gameplay
EA and Koei Tecmo’s announcement was followed up with a seven-minute long gameplay trailer showcasing just some of the Kenomo beasts across Azuma. In terms of gameplay though, players are invited to journey through Azuma either “as a lone wolf or pack-hunt with up to two friends”. This means there’s co-op and crossplay features available across all platforms opening up great opportunities to play with others.
It appears also that the gameplay is expanded when hunting in a pack as EA have announced special missions and expansion of battle plans when pack hunting. It’s a blend of crafting and hunting though as the developer leans into unique mechanics, asking players to craft Karakuri. Karakuri is said to create weapons that will enable you to “become the force of nature that will bring back balance.”
So, you’ll want to be focused on setting out carefully-lain traps, preparing yourself and your weapons for battle, and making sure you reserve all-important energy ready to take on some of the most gigantic beasts in Wild Hearts.
