Rogue Legacy 2 has finally dropped after over a year in early access. This time has given it the chance to grow into a complete and satisfying sequel to keep you coming back a long time after you’ve finished the first game.
This added depth includes new character classes, traits, upgrade trees and rooms. Needless to say, all these additions bring with them just as many questions. Being one of the most requested features from the first game, here’s what we currently know about multiplayer in Rogue Legacy 2.
Does Rogue Legacy 2 Have Multiplayer?
As of right now, Rogue Legacy 2 does not have a multiplayer mode. If it does ever get one, it seems likely we may see some form of co-op play where enemies are a little tough but exploration and combat is made a little easier with multiple eyes and, more importantly, multiple weapons.
This being said, multiplayer functions don’t have to stop here. A messaging system or even scoreboard would likely go down very well. Rogue Legacy 2 has a good skill ceiling, rewarding both players who invest the points and players who happen to have practised as much as they can. There are no current plans to bring a multiplayer mode to Rogue Legacy 2 in the future in any form.
Will Rogue Legacy 2 Get Multiplayer?
This is a hard question to answer. Initially, one would assume it wouldn’t as the first game didnt. This being said, this isn’t just the first game repeated. It’s a very impressive sequel with tonnes of important changes. If fans are vocal and the game does well, it seems like this could possibly arrive.
