Wolfenstein: Youngblood, the first co-op title in the series, is finally out. Like other high profile releases, the title does, after all, feature microtransactions which in this case go by the name of Gold Bars.
Gold Bars are one of three currencies in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and being tied to microtransactions are the only ones you cannot earn in-game. Instead, you’re going to have to buy them with real money.
Gold Bars

Gold Bars can be purchased from Steam and the official console storefronts, as well as other retailers. Currently, there are three pricing options to choose from:
- 500 gold bars — $4.99
- 1,100 gold bars — $9.99
- 2,500 gold bars — $19.99
At the moment, Gold Bars cannot be used to purchase any form of in-game advantage in Wolfenstein: Youngblood, being used for things such as weapon skins, power suit skins and power suit helmets, which are all cosmetic.
However, even when it comes to cosmetics, they can also be purchased with Silver Coins, which are obtained by playing.
Specific pieces, like the Machine Games cosmetic armor can only be purchased with Silver Coins to begin with.
Microtransactions cannot, however, buy you character abilities or weapon attachments.
