World of Tanks is preparing for this year’s Holiday Ops event, which aims to bring some festive cheer to the online tank battler. Better yet, between its start and end dates players will have plenty of time to unlock as many goodies as they can.
The Holiday Ops 2020 event brings a new customizable garage, unlockable decorations, alongside a brand new mechanic that rewards additional bonuses in battle.
World of Tanks Holiday Ops Event Start and End Date
The start date of World of Tanks’ Holiday Ops event is slated for Friday, December 13. Players will have a bit over a month to take part in it, its end date being set to January 14, 2020.
The new garage lies at the core of the Holiday Ops event, players being able to unlock 300 decorations and complete 4 different collections. More specifically, the garage comes with “an interactive Christmas tree, a feast, an installation and a yard,”, which you’ll be able to adorn.
You can earn decorations by “causing destruction, creating their own New Year’s firework display and completing special missions in Random Battles”, which don’t sound traditionally Christmasy but nonetheless increase your Festive Atmosphere, each level bringing new rewards.
The new Holiday Ops 2020 event mechanic kicks in at Festive Atmosphere level 5 when you’ll be able to create a team of vehicles that will earn additional bonuses in battle.
Depending on these vehicles’ classes, you’ll earn Battle XP, Free XP or Crew XP. At level 5 you’ll only have one eligible vehicle slot, more becoming available as you level up.
World of Tanks will also reward each player during its Holiday Ops event with a special pack containing the following items:
- Tier II French Premium light tank
- F42 AMR
- 3 decoration boxes
- one Charge (a special item that can be used during Holiday Ops)
Lastly, Snow Maidens will reward tankers one random decoration and personal missions for 5x XP on a daily basis and, upon reaching specific Festive Atmosphere levels, you’ll get to keep the Snow Maidens as permanent crew members.
