World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 4 is the final planned refresh for the MMORPG’s expansion before the arrival of The War Within, making its start and end dates well worth knowing for anyone looking to revisit existing raids and have a go at another Mythic+ and PvP season.
WoW: Dragonflight’s Season 4 shares similarities with Shadowlands’ experimental fourth season, in the sense that it also revisits the current expansion’s raids rather than introducing a new one for us to tackle.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4 Release Date
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 4 start date is currently expected to arrive on April 23, 2024, as confirmed by Blizzard.

Its end date hasn’t been officially revealed, but is bound to occur prior to the launch of The War Within expansion later this year.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4 Content
WoW: Dragonflight Season 4’s content mainly focuses on revisiting the expansion’s raids, likely with some form of twist that remains currently unannounced.
We’ll also have new PvP and Mythic+ seasons to look forward to, possibly with a handful of new rewards attached that make taking on bosses and other players more enticing.
A series of notable changes to dungeon difficulty have been announced for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 4.
In an effort to make them more relevant for a longer period of time, Heroic dungeons will have their difficulty and rewards increased to be on par with their pre-Season 4 Mythic 0 counterparts. Queueing up via the group finder will still be an option, but their item level requirement will also be increased.
The difficulty and rewards of Mythic 0 dungeons will be equivalent to that of Mythic 8-10 dungeons prior to the launch of Season 4, only lacking the timer and affixes normally seen in them. This change gives players the terrain to get accustomed to the higher challenge without the pressure inherent to WoW’s dungeon-based endgame mode.
This essentially means that dungeons labeled as Mythic 5 in Season 4 will be “roughly equivalent in difficulty, rewards, and M+ Rating awarded, to a Mythic 15 today,” according to the developer.
The above changes will affect all eight dungeons that released alongside the Dragonflight expansion. One of their goals is to bring in new players to Mythic+, a mode that can prove daunting due to its increasingly punishing timer that’s coupled with a need to know ideal dungeon routes and class-specific tricks.
Under the new system, which the developer aims to bring into the upcoming War Within expansion, mob affixes will be introduced at the +2, +5, and +10 tiers. The overall structure of dungeon rewards won’t be significantly altered, and you can get a better sense of how it will look in the article linked above.
As a refresher, these are the eight Dragonflight dungeons featured during Season 4:
- Algeth’ar Academy
- Brackenhide Hollow
- Halls of Infusion
- Neltharus
- Ruby Life Pools
- The Azure Vault
- The Nokhud Offensive
- Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
On top of that, those of us who enjoy exploring the open world should also find new rewards to uncover.
Blizzard has revealed that it is aiming to experiment with remixed gear sets for each available class specialization.
As the developer explains, “demon hunters might vote for a set that has the look of Season 1, with Season 2 set bonuses for Havoc and Season 3 set bonuses for Vengeance.”
Public voting was underway for each specialization, as of January 9, 2024, giving players the power to influence which visual and stat combinations will be attached to Dragonflight Season 4’s gear.
It was later revealed that WoW: Dragonflight’s Season 4 gear rewards can also be purchased using the Antique Bronze Bullion currency or through the Awakened gear upgrade track.
Completing all three Awakened raids on Normal difficulty also grants the Voyaging Wildering dynamic flying mount.
In addition, a new achievement title, The Awakened, is rewarded for completing these raids on the higher Heroic difficulty.
Defeating the final bosses on Mythic difficulty opens path portals that allow easier access to the raids.
Furthermore, a new tier token can be used to obtain the new tier pieces with the appearance and bonus combinations resulting from the public voting that took place earlier in the year.
Any previously obtained legendary items can be upgraded to their equivalent Season 4 item level by purchasing the Scale of Awakening item.
Mythic+ enthusiasts also have a new Keystone Master mount, the Infinite Armoredon, to work towards, obtainable via the Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season 4.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 4 brings with it the expected PvP rankings reset, alongside new gear sets, mounts, titles, and other goodies for players eager to face off against each other.
The Vicious Dreamtalon mount, sporting both Horde or Alliance versions, can be obtained by participating in Rated Arena and Rated Battleground matches, while the Draconic Gladiator’s Drake awaits those who earn the Gladiator: Dragonflight Season 4 achievement.
Blizzard has also provided a full list of achievement rewards available during the expansion’s final PvP season:

- Dragonflight Keystone Conqueror: Season 4 – Attain a Mythic+ Rating of 1500 during Dragonflight Season 4.
- The Draconic Hero
- Draconic Hero: Dragonflight Season 4 – End Dragonflight Mythic+ Season 4 with a Mythic+ Rating in the top 0.1% of all players in your region.
- Northrend Racer
- Northrend Racing Completionist: Gold – Obtain gold in all races in Northrend.
- Awakened Hero
- Heroic: Awakening the Dragonflight Raids – Complete all three Awakened raids on Heroic difficulty or higher in Dragonflight Season 4.
- Draconic Gladiator
- Draconic Gladiator: Dragonflight Season 4 – End Dragonflight PvP Season 4 in the top 0.1% of the 3v3 arena ladder.
- Draconic Legend
- Draconic Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 – End Dragonflight PvP Season 4 in the top 0.1% of the Solo Shuffle ladder
