World of Warcraft’s best teams are gearing up to compete in the Mythic Dungeon International and Arena World Championship finals. The two popular tournaments have returned with prizes of up to $300,000 for The War Within’s second season.
The two events rely on different structures to decide which teams will end up clashing in late May, when both WoW’s MDI and AWC finals are set to occur. The qualifying phases started earlier in April.
World of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon International and Arena World Championship Finals
World of Warcraft’s Mythic Dungeon International uses a “full-season model” alongside “a large capstone Global Finals to determine the season’s ultimate champion,” as noted by Blizzard.
Season 2’s event is “focused on Mythic Dungeon key pushing, which will be the primary focus of Mythic Dungeon International competitions going forward.” PvE enthusiasts who tune in will likely want to take notes from the teams reaching the MDI finals.
World of Warcraft’s Mythic Dungeon International began with a time trials phase that determined the 32 teams who moved on to a group phase, which kicks off in early May.
“In each MDI Group, eight teams will compete pushing keys for a share of $30,000 (USD) in prizing, and one of the top spots to qualify for the MDI Global Finals. The top six teams from Group Stage will join two teams from the China region to battle it out at the Global Finals for their share of the $300,000 (USD) prize pool and the title of MDI Global Champion!”
WoW’s MDI global finals take place between May 30 and June 1. You can keep track of the event’s progress by visiting its dedicated Raider.IO webpage.
