World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ patch 9.2.5 will wrap up the expansion’s remaining story beats, preparing the ground for Dragonflight’s arrival. Its release date brings with it a host of interesting changes, including a pool of Mythic+ dungeons that taps into older expansions, cross-faction groups, and more.
Since WoW’s 9.2.5 patch comes at the end of an expansion, there won’t be any new systems added, however, all of the expansion’s three raids will be made relevant, dropping gear of the same item level. This is a welcome change, after a long period of time in which patches have mainly focused on keeping a single raid relevant.
World of Warcraft Patch 9.2.5 Release Date
As far as PvP goes, the new Enigma Arena is on the way alongside a number of talent tweaks, a new mount, and more. Mythic+ Season 4 will feature the megadungeons from the game’s three past expansions alongside two dungeons from Warlords of Draenor alongside other additions.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ patch 9.2.5 went live on the PTR (public test realm) in late March 2022. That was when players got the first chance to test its upcoming changes and provide feedback.
PTR cycles usually last between 2.5 and 3 months, which is why we initially expected WoW 9.2.5’s release date to occur at some point in June or early July.
New updates usually go live with the weekly reset, which happens on Tuesday/Wednesday, depending on if you’re playing on US or EU servers.
- WoW patch 9.2.5 release date: May 31 (US)/June 1 (EU)
In late May, Blizzard confirmed that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ patch 9.2.5 release date has been locked down to May 31/June 1, depending on region, arriving a bit earlier than we anticipated.
The announcement was accompanied by the full list of changes, which you can check out in the patch notes found on the developer’s website.
