Steam's library grows bigger by the hour, and with that comes more potential free games, free weekends and lavish savings. The latest to get the free time period is Square Enix's AAA Blade Runner blockbuster sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Rumour: New Mass Effect and next-gen Deus Ex at E3 2014
According to an industry insider, this year's E3 in California will be hosting Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's new Deus Ex, which is in the works as a next-gen title. Also present will be BioWare's new Mass Effect. Ahsan Rasheed confirmed it won't be called Mass Effect 4, something BioWare said previously, but will be subtitled. He's also heard rumblings about Microsoft's plans.
Square Enix trademarked Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on March 14th
A European trademark for 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' has been spotted and was filed by Square Enix back on March 14th. It covers all spectrums with 'computer software' and 'video games' being repeatedly mentioned. Eidos Montreal are putting all their Deus Ex efforts under the single umbrella of 'Deus Ex: Universe', which is to encompass all future and connected experiences. A casting call was found last week.
Fan-made Deus Ex short film releases, live-action based on Human Revolution
Back in December a teasing one minute long trailer for a Deus Ex short film released, but now the finished article is out punching through walls and rifling desks for credits. It's over 12 minutes long. It's a fan-made project and uses special effects to bring this live-action Human Revolution to life. It features Adam Jensen, assassin Yelena Fedorova and scientist Megan Reed.
Deus Ex: The Fall now available on PC via Steam
Square Enix has today launched the once mobile-exclusive Deus Ex: The Fall for PC, which was collaboration between Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Eidos Montreal and N-Fusion. It's £7.99 / €9.99 / $9.99. The Fall is set in 2027 and we play as Ben Saxon, a former British SAS Mercenary betrayer by his employers. He wants to uncover the drug conspiracy behind human augmentation.
