Ubisoft has announced a Phantom Heist event for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms that will continue throughout August. It kicks off on August 4 with a giveaway on Steam that offers a free DLC pack to all players. The pack will boost experience gain and in-game currency income by 100% for 30 days.

The free-to-play shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms is now available to play on PC as it releases over Steam. There are three starter and advanced packs being sold at £6.99 and £18.99 respectively. There's also a squad pack for £29.99. Yep - it's free-to-play alright. It's a third-person, team-based tactical shooter as you'd expect of the Ghost Recon series, with 16-player matches.
Ubisoft releases dev diaries for Ghost Recon Phantoms, explains its origins
Ubisoft has released two episodes in a dev diary series called The Journey for the upcoming Ghost Recon Phantoms. The studio behind it explains how the project started and where they decided to take it. It went from Future Soldier to Online, and dropped retail for free-to-play. Next week will see the release of Ghost Recon Phantoms as the team focus on the PC version, with Wii U on hold.
