They work in the usual way with a couple cells in play, but think of them as the wardrobe from Narnia. These puppies have a lot of space in them, more than you ever might need in fact. Moreover, they scale with quality of the build, so you can actually have more space depending on the overall state of the rack. Never run out of space again.

A gun for capturing those unique pawns with high stats that you want to bring into your colony. This Tranq Gun can bring down people without doing much harm to them, but its slow rate of fire makes it pretty much unusable as a conventional weapon. That said, when you want to forcefully integrate someone without hurting them too bad, this gun might be your best bet.
