TimeGate Studios forced to pay $7M after appeal fails
Section 8 developer TimeGate Studios won its appeal last year in arbitration over a ruling it pay Southpeak $7.35M in damages as well as the Section 8 IP.
Earth multiplayer Mass Effect 3 DLC highlights upcoming Marketplace content
The upcoming free Earth multiplayer downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 highlights the upcoming Xbox Live Marketplace content revealed by Major Nelson's blog. Other notable offerings includes a Bethesda DLC sale with content for Oblivion and Fallout 3 at 50% off, followed by a half-off sale for Ubisoft games. The Summer of Arcade proceedings start with the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD on the 18th July as well.
Timegate wins court battle with SouthPeak over Section 8
Developer Timegame Studios has been victorious in a lawsuit that pitted then against publisher SouthPeak Interactive. It was over the Section 8 IP and claimed 'unpaid revenue'. The initial deal was between Timegate and Gamecock but the latter became insolvent and was bought by SouthPeak. An arbiter ruled against Timegate, but then a Judge squashed it.
Sony announces Fall PSN sale for North America
Sony has announced on the PlayStation US Blog a weeklong PlayStation Network sale for various PSN hits. The sale runs from now til the 29th November. Some of the highlights include the moody monochromatic puzzle platformer Limbo, its vibrant technicolor counterpart Outland, the tactical puzzle game Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, and the surprisingly effective shooter Section 8: Prejudice.
