Dead Island 2 has finally left development hell behind and is ready to give us a taste of its brand of gory zombie slaughter. If you’re looking forward to the game, chances are that you’re wondering what you can expect in terms of length and how long it takes to beat its story campaign.
Having played through Dead Island 2 for our review, I can safely say that its story mode provides a hefty serving of first-person action during which you’ll help many zombies part way with different body parts.
Dead Island 2 Length
I spent somewhere between 28-29 hours playing Dead Island 2, during which time I completed all of its story quests and also wrapped up around two-thirds of the side quests it offers.
- Dead Island 2 length: 28-29 hours (story campaign and around two-thirds of side quests)
If you’re blitzing through the story campaign, the developers’ original estimate of around 20 hours sounds accurate, give or take a couple of extra hours.
If you’re looking to properly “beat” Dead Island 2, completing every side quest and challenge, tracking down every named zombie, and reaching every point of interest, you’ll easily get past the 30-hour mark, since some of the latter can be particularly tricky to find.
Either way, Dead Island 2 doesn’t suffer from a length problem and gives you plenty of fun weapons to use when slaying zombies.
That is what you need to know about Dead Island 2’s length and how long it takes to beat. For more on the game, read our guides covering its chapter list and the districts you end up exploring on your journey.
