Just when you believe the character customization options in Baldur’s Gate 3 have reached their peak, the game continues to astonish with additional options. One such surprise, which players might not be aware of, is the ability to change your dice color in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Changing the color of your dice in BG 3 won’t magically grant you better rolls, but it does add a pleasing aesthetic variation when you’re making those Perception checks. If you’re interested in using custom dice in Baldur’s Gate 3, continue reading to discover how.
How to Change Dice Skin in BG3
To change your dice color in BG3, you’ll first need to roll a check. The type of check doesn’t matter; what’s important is that, as of now, this is the only method to access the customization settings for your dice in the game. There’s no alternative way to reach this option.
You can try walking around the hidden Goblin Stash to trigger the check while you get some loot or visit the Strange Ox in Emerald’s Grove. Once the dice roll appears on your screen, there will be a small dice icon on the bottom left corner of your screen.
The icon says “customize dice” when you hover over it, so click on that. Next, you will be presented with a small pop-up consisting of all the available dice skins or colors you can choose from.
The available dice skins will depend on the version of the game you purchased. For starters, you’ll have the Dragonflame Red dice if you own the Digital Collector’s Edition and the Illithid Purple for the Physical Collector’s Edition.
Outside of that, there are two other options available at the moment: the PC-exclusive Behir Blue and the Scuffed Metal that comes with the base game. It’s possible that more options might get added in the future. Whichever dice skin you choose, you really can’t go wrong with any of these options!
