The Resident Evil 4 Remake features Clockwork Castellans that you’ll want to discover if you’re tackling the survival horror game with a completionist mindset and aiming to unlock a bonus weapon.
In addition to completing another optional task, locating the Clockwork Castellans in the RE4 Remake also provides the gratifying experience of shattering miniature figurines of the somewhat irritating antagonist, Ramón Salazar.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Locations
The Clockwork Castellan locations in the RE4 Remake are scattered throughout the game world. You can start finding them as early as the first chapter, but they won’t be marked on your map.
Locating these figurines can be challenging, but the game provides a helpful clue by playing a distinct clockwork sound when you’re near one.
To find all 16 figurines, thoroughly explore the various areas you visit in your quest to save Ashley, and stay attentive to the unique clockwork sound.
This guide lists the Clockwork Castellan locations in RE4 Remake in the order we discovered them. It’s possible that you may be able to shoot some of the figurines at earlier or later stages when revisiting certain areas.
Destroying all 16 figurines unlocks the Revolution Wind-up achievement, as well as the Primal Knife bonus weapon, which can be purchased for 1000 CP in the Extra Content Shop accessible through the main menu’s Bonus section.
Once purchased, the Primal Knife can be retrieved from the storage section of any typewriter.
If any of the figurines prove difficult to find, continue reading below, as we cover all the Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan locations. There are some figurines that can be missable, so stay focused!
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 1
The first Clockwork Castellan Location is in the Lakeside Settlement, which you first reach in chapter 1. You’ll find it in the building that’s right in the center of the area’s southern section.
Look for it on a broken part of what used to be the building’s attic and show it who’s boss with a well-placed bullet.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 2
In chapter 2, after leaving the factory and retrieving the crow symbol, use it to open the door required to progress and go through it.
Once you dispatch the foes in your way and reach the first open area, you’ll notice a shack on the left. Enter it and look in the corner just to your right to find another RE4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 3
This one waits in the attic of the Village Chief’s Manor. You need to first use a lever behind a painting on the top floor, in the room where the village chief ambushes you, to bring down a ladder.
Although you can hear the Clockwork Castellan in chapter 3, you need to return to its location in chapter 5. Leon needs Ashley to lower the ladder before he can use it.
The figurine itself waits behind some breakable loot barrels, on a shelf next to a chessboard and a bucket.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 4
This RE4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location is found at the end of the first dock area you reach by making a left right after you get access to the boat in Chapter 4.
It’s the section just below the merchant’s rather elaborate stall, as shown in the screenshots above.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 5
Also found in chapter 4. You’ll need to head to the Forest Altar area that waits behind a gate in the northern part of Lakeside Settlement.
To open it, you need the Insignia Key. Once you get past it, head forward and climb the ladder. Head past the altar and look past the makeshift wooden fence. You’ll find the Clockwork Castellan on the ground in the nearby forest.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 6
This one can be shot in chapter 6. It sits next to a bonfire on your right just before you reach the Checkpoint location, as shown on the map above.
You can find it right after the first area where you face enemies, shortly after starting the chapter.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 7
Found in chapter 7. After reuniting with Ashley and using the dungeon key to open the door, you’ll soon climb a ladder.
This RE4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location waits in the room at the top, on top of a wooden shelf.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 8
Found on the battlements in chapter 8. Once you get to the top of the tower where the armored Gigante starts attacking you with rubble, head right and drop down.
Run towards the tower you came from and take the ladder on the right side of the entrance. At the top, make a left and circle around until you reach a dead end. You’ll find the RE4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location on top of a pile of white sacks, next to a group of crates.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 9
This one is found in the northwesternmost corner of the Courtyard area where you have to lower the three flags in order to progress.
First reachable in chapter 9, the Castellan is hidden at the location indicated in the screenshots above, in a small crevice to the right of some white boxes covered with a white piece of cloth.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 10
Found in chapter 10. As you emerge from the depths, you’ll eventually reach a room with the merchant and the typewriter.
The Clockwork Castellan hangs upside down behind a metal grating that’s on the wall just opposite the merchant room. It might be hard to spot, but the flashlight helps you spot and shoot it.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 11
Can be shot during chapter 11, after the first mine cart ride. In the Stopover area, go up the stairs, dispatch the enemies, and enter the building.
Look to the shattered portion of the roof depicted in the screenshots above to spot this RE4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 12
Found in chapter 10. As soon as you reach the area with the giant Salazar statue – there’s a cutscene in which he greets you when that happens – deal with the enemies on the bottom floor and keep moving forward while keeping to the left side of the room.
You’ll find the Castellan on top of some covered crates, ready to be shattered.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 13
This Castellan waits on the ground, under a truck found in the area where you fight your second set of RPG enemies, after leaving the Wharf in Chapter 13.
When you enter the area, Leon wonders if that might be where they’re keeping Ashley.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 14
Waiting in Chapter 14, on top of the lockers in the upper area of the Campsite you reach after leaving the Amber Storeroom.
The room is guarded by an enemy with a crossbow, which you can stealth kill if you’re careful enough.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 15
Found in chapter 15, inside a small room within the Specimen Storage area.
Look for it on top of a wooden beam and refer to the screenshots above, should you have trouble spotting it.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan Location 16
In chapter 16, during the escape sequence when the timer begins to tick down, head past the crumbling stone bridge.
Inside the large square room with the writhing soldiers, you’ll find the final Resident Evil 4 Remake Clockwork Castellan location waiting on top of a stack of boxes that you can see from the back of the green forklift.
