Resident Evil 4 Remake tasks players once more with aiding Leon Kennedy as he battles to rescue the president’s daughter from the clutches of an evil cult. If you’re thinking of taking the game on the go, you may be curious about its compatibility with the Steam Deck.
Valve’s portable device boasts a growing library of supported titles. Here’s what we currently know about the status of Resident Evil 4 Remake’s support for the Steam Deck at launch.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Steam Deck Support
Valve currently uses four different terms to describe a game’s Steam Deck compatibility. Depending on the game, it can be either verified, playable, unsupported, or unknown.
There’s a bit more nuance than you’d expect going into what they truly mean, but this article focuses solely on whether or not Resident Evil 4 Remake is officially supported.
As of April 4, 2023, Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Steam Deck support status is Playable.

This essentially means that Valve has confirmed that the title is functional on its handheld device, but may still require some additional tinkering to properly configure or interact with. Similarly, non-Steam Deck button prompts may appear.
Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Steam Deck status can be checked on its Steam page. It’s generally found on the right side of the screen, below the list of supported languages and above its assigned age rating.
It is worth keeping in mind that, while some games do eventually become playable on the Steam Deck, others do not.
We expect to learn more about how nicely Capcom’s survival horror title plays with Valve’s device in the lead-up to or at some point after launch.
