Producer Jun Takeuchi has revealed that gamers and fans shouldn’t be all that ”surprised” to find a new control scheme for Resi 5 at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
He added that he wouldn’t be ”confirming or denying anything” but later he did let slip that the new scheme would be ”Gears-like”, presumably to ramp up the action.
This is a big step away from the traditional roots of Resident Evil which is likely to please some and ruffle the feathers of others. ”So don’t be surprised if at the Tokyo Game Show, the controls are different… I’m not confirming or denying anything, but we like to surprise people,” said Takeuchi, Kotaku reports.
It looks like the T-Virus has begun mutating the gameplay over the years - not so much a horror survivalist’s dream anymore.
