Recently Jordan Mechner, creator of the platforming Prince, filed trademarks for the Prodigy name. The document also applies only to ”game software and electronic game programs.”
Ubisoft Montreal handles the Prince of Persia games and the publisher has been very quiet about its details, including what platforms he’ll be platforming.
Trademork are the ones who’ve been snooping the trademarks, other than documents spied on there’s no certainty that the upcoming March 2009 game will carry the Prodigy name. It could be for some as-of-yet undisclosed project like a handheld or mobile game.
We’ll just have to wait for the sands of time to loosen those secretive Ubisoft lips.
