SCEA’s Pierre Gravereau, digital distribution manager, revealed some stat laden slides at GDC in San Francisco. Over 41.6 million PS3s have sold worldwide.
According to Sony over 80 percent of their install base is connected to PlayStation Network, of which there are over 70m accounts. PSN traffic jumped 60% in 2010.
Last year also saw a revenue upswing of 70 percent for the PlayStation Store according to the SCEA executive. These are quite impressive numbers indeed for the platform which once lagged embarrassingly far behind Microsoft’s relatively new Xbox.
Really though who could resist the charms of Kevin Butler?
