Japanese magazine Famitsu reports that Namco Bandai’s Soul Calibur V is about 10 percent done, and new characters will accompany the series’ veterans.
One newbie on the block is Patroklos, the son of Sophitia. Guest appearances are confirmed by producer Hisaharu Tago. There are gameplay changes in the works.
Overall the development team want the Soul Calibur V roster padded to at least 26 characters. The producer, Tago-san, have no hint to what guests will be appearing in the title. Soul Calibur IV played host to three notable Star Wars characters.
The studio team has new staff working alongside series mainstayers. We can expect special weapons to be included although details were withheld. Soul Calibur V releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012. Does the series count among your must have brawlers?
