The game world is ‘doubled’ with exclusive land for the console versions, as well as exclusive farming vehicles. Who knew virtual farming could be so fun outside of a Facebook setting?
Gamers have been having some tongue-in-cheek fun with Farming Simulator, with some even going to the trouble of defining a deathmatch rule-set dubbed ‘Mortal Kombain’.
”As big as the original environment of Farming Simulator on PC, this new playground exclusive to the console version doubles the world of the game. Inspired by typical American farms, this big new land offers a real new scenery, with new places, new opportunities of development for your farm, and even bigger fields ! The console version of Farming Simulator also offers exclusive vehicles, completing the large selection of farming machines that are available on PC.”
”These vehicles, from famous constructors such as Case IH, Lizard, Ursus, Kramer and Horsch, will allow you to complete your tasks with increased efficiency… most notably on the new environment and its large fields!” read the press release. ”Of course, the game keeps all the ingredients that made the Farming Simulator series a success on PC, by faithfully adapting the subtleties of farming.”
The simulation genre covers a whole range of things you would have thought insane to make a game out of, but there’s a market out there hungry for pretending to do stuff like Camping Manager, Airport Control Tower or Euro Truck. Of course then there’s Stone Quarry Simulator, Emergency Ambulance Simulator, Utility Vehicle Simulator…
…Underground Mining Simulator, Oil Platform Simulator, Airport Firefighter Simulator…
…Delivery Truck Simulator, Bus & Cable Car Simulator, Street Cleaning (Yes!) Simulator…
…Road Construction Simu–oh forget it, there are too many.
Farming Simulator releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 in early September.
