Hale, the studio describes, is the ‘epitome of strength’ as an ”avid climber, skier, rider” and a certified trained volunteer rescue worker - not to mention saving all organic life.
The Long Dark is a first-person post-disaster survival sim, set in the Northern wilderness of North America. It’s ”exploration focused” and ‘appeals’ to Fallout 3/STALKER fans who enjoy discovery.
”The world of The Long Dark is one of harsh beauty. The same elements that may kill you with indifference, haunt you with their majesty. The wind howls, the snow falls, and the aurora hangs above you, a breathtaking reminder of what humanity has just lost,” begins Hinterland’s Kickstarter update.
”We’ve talked a lot about rugged bearded men, the rough “coffee and cigarettes” men like bush pilot Will Mackenzie, who have the stern stuff needed to survive in this post-digital, post-disaster world.”
”But every bit equal to them are the strong women who face the new frontier,” they continued. ”Jennifer Hale is the epitome of this strength. An avid climber, skier, rider, and a CERT trained volunteer rescue worker, Jennifer lives and breathes the outdoors. She also volunteers with a group that rescues horses in advance of oncoming brush fires.”
”We’re so excited to have Jennifer bring her incredible talents to The Long Dark, and can’t wait to share more with you about her character, and the pivotal role she plays in the story.”
Most may know Jennifer Hale for her role as the female Commander Shephard, but she also recently voiced a prominent BioShock Infinite character. The Long Dark is just 5 days away from ending its Kickstarter and Hinterland are shy $33k CAD to be successfully funded. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here for more.
