The new Command & Conquer will be receiving a story-based campaign in episodic chunks throughout next year, reveals EA during Gamescom 2013. They’re for solo and co-operative play.
This new C&C is powered by DICE’s Frostbite engine and was originally billed as C&C: Generals 2 but later became just ‘Command & Conquer’ as a free-to-play title.
Developer Victory Games has said they might be willing to expand into other areas of the C&C universe if this new Command & Conquer proves a hit with RTS fans.
”The year is 2023, and the world once again teeters on the brink of war,” teases Victory.
”The China dominated Asia-Pacific Alliance, having sat comfortably as the world’s foremost geopolitical power for nearly a decade, finds itself challenged on all fronts. The upstart European Union and a newly reconstituted Global Liberation Army threaten the newfound balance of power.” Command & Conquer releases on PC in 2014.
