Players familiar with Seven Cities of Gold may find themselves at home with the mood and setting, as they will find themselves in the role of a Spanish Conquistador in Central America in 1518-1520 in a ”tactical roleplaying game with a touch of strategic resource management and a pinch of choose-your-own-adventure.” Gamers will select the members of their expedition and explore campaign maps based on the actual topological maps of Hispaniola and Mexico.
The game will also feature branching dialogue and storyline, allowing them to ”engage with the characters and situations that you encounter across these uncharted areas, and when it’s time to spill blood, a tactical combat system of great depth and brutality will let you control your individual troops in battle.”
Expeditions: Conquistador promises high replayability with the inclusion of random events that lead to dynamic endings based on the decisions made by the player, with such factors as how much gold recovered from the New World and how many expedition members lost (or gained!) along the way.
