Prepare yourself for a ”non-sugarcoated steampunk fairy tale,” as Belgian studio GRIN unveil Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries. It’s a 2.5D sidescroller with platforming, puzzles, hack ‘n’ slash and stealth.
GRIN hope they’ll have a public beta to show sometime this March as currently their halfway through development with an internal alpha. No, they’re unrelated to that other GRIN.
This will be the Belgian indie’s first original title as they have previously been working in the web and mobile space, but fancy something with more meat on its bones.
”Non-sugarcoated steampunk fairy tale, full of drama and dark twists. A vengeful Red Riding Hood confronts her nightmares and demons in a dark sidescroller odyssey. GRIN is proud to announce the first public teaser for our game in development ‘Woolfe – The Red Hood Diaries’,” announces the official blog.
”Since receiving support from the Flemish Game Fund in May 2013 we have been working hard to get our 2.5D UDK sidescroller game ready enough to show the world. At the moment we are about half way the development cycle and have a private alpha level ready for testing. We hope to have a public beta ready by March 2014.”
Currently GRIN is developing just for PC but consoles might see a release. Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries is set to launch this year using the UDK engine. A teaser and pre-alpha gameplay trailer has been released.
