Battlefield 4’s big Fall patch has finally dropped today. It’s currently live on Origin, but Battlelog is undergoing some maintenance to get things ready for players to jump in.
Amongst a raft of new tweaks, the Fall update notably adds a new Obliteration Competitive sub-game mode and restores Battlefield 3-style movement to the game.
It also attempts to fix some long-standing issues with the game’s net-code, adding a ‘High Frequency Bubble’ around the player which updates with the game server more regularly. This should make close-range gunfights smoother and less laggy.
There’s a bunch of other additions and fixes, most of which are listed here. You can see why Battlefield fans have been looking forward to this one. EA will presumably post more comprehensive patch notes later today.
