Team17 and Dutch developer Self Made Miracle have announced a September 22 release date for what they call the ”fantastically sadistic circus extravaganza”, Penarium. That’s quite the description.
You play a chap called Willy, who’s trapped in an insane circus, and forced to platform his way past a series of deathtraps for the amusement of the crowd. You will probably die a lot, as each arena is packed with laser beams, spinning saws, bombs, and all sorts of other fun stuff. Expect lots of pixel bloodshed when you mistime a jump.
As well as 30 singleplayer challenge missions, you’ll get an arcade mode set across three levels, couch co-op, and versus and co-operative multiplayer modes.
Penarium will be released on PC and consoles for £6.99 / $9.99 / €8,99. There will also be a free demo to try out before you buy.
