World of Warships, Wargaming’s foray into tactical naval combat, is now live. You’ll be able to take charge of dozens of vessels across four main ship classes, and jump into 12 versus 12 PVP across ten maps.
I’m yet to try the game out, but from what I’ve seen and heard it looks like Warships packs in a similar blend of easy-to-learn controls and surprisingly deep strategy as its land-based cousin World of Tanks. I’m certainly up for a proper naval combat game. Who doesn’t love a good broadside?
If you’re truly in it to win it, the game’s first Ranked season also kicks off today. You will have to earn a level 9 Service Record to take part, so it’s currently reserved for those who’ve been taking part in the Beta.
“World of Warships is our biggest release this year,” says Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO. “Everyone involved has put their heart and soul into creating a truly outstanding title, and we are extremely proud to share it with gamers across the world. We hope that players will love this game as much as we do.”
You can find all the relevant info - and download the game client itself - over on the World of Warships website.
