Castle Crashers has the legacy of ushering a new era of video games published under indie reigns. It was in 2008 that The Behemoth rolled out their hand-drawn beat ‘em up and now they’re moving an update onto PC that allows much smoother graphics and frame rate on the classic indie title.
The new update is meant to offer PC players the same grand update that Xbox One users recently received. The upped graphics are off by default in the update only because they’re meant to be used on a high spec 64-bit system that will take full advantage of them. These updates allow for ultra smoothed textures and removal of the 30 fps limit on the game. There was also the addition of bug fixes, an improved UI, and a new mini game replacing the old All You Can Quaff mode.
The update is out now. If you’ve never played Castle Crashers or have a friend that’s never seen it before, it might be fair time to venture into The Behemoth’s bizarre fantasy fiction world.
