Creative Assembly are releasing The Last Roman Campaign Pack this week for Total War: ATTILA. It adds a ”vast and highly-detailed” campaign map of Western Europe in 533AD with 35 provinces over a hundred regions.
There will be five playable factions alongside the main Roman Expedition, which is a ”narrative, mission-based experience”. We might fight in Emperor Justinian’s name, or perhaps reform Rome for ourselves.
We take the role of Belisarius in the expansion’s campaign were we’ll have to juggle attention between the Emperor, the Empress and our wife, Antonina. If we please them then more resources and men can be made available, but anger them and the Expedition will weaken.
”Alternatively, you might declare independence and attempt to re-establish the Western Roman Empire under your own banner, seeking glory and immortality away from the court at Constantinople,” tease the studio.
There are new buildings and technologies to go with the campaign, featuring a ”heavily modified Roman technology tree” with 20 new techs. Should independence be declared then it will revert to more traditional Roman styles.
Total War: ATTILA - The Last Roman Campaign Pack releases on Steam June 25th.
