Mount & Blade: Warband Viking Conquest has just received a sizeable free update, a ”monumental update” in fact, which adds a bunch of new features including a brand new story, a dog companion, and expanded kingdom management.
Titled ‘The Last Tuatha De Danann’, the new campaign is “set in dark, mysterious Ireland where nothing is what it seems and truths are hidden.”
There’s a lauundry list of new features in the updated version of the game, which is on sale via the TaleWorlds website right now. Your new dog companion can help you out while you’re exploring the wilderness, but should you require a more martial bodyguard, you’ll be able to hire Viking beserkers at the ‘Hofs of the Nordic Gods’. There are also new systems for crouching, hunting, ambushing, and a whole bunch more.
“There are now many more things to do, minigames, minor quests and a new, longer questline,” explains developer Brytenwalda. “And of course plenty of new items to wear and weapons to wield. Multiplayer has also received work with balancing, new features, some new scenes and the new Raid mode.”
Viking Conquest is probably the best version of the series’ familiar exploration and combat formula currently available, and now there’s even more of it. There is no bad here.
