Special editions are really getting out of hand. Some cheap statue, maybe an art book or a map, and you’re paying upwards of $100 for it. Maybe more if there’s some kind of electronic toy. But it looks like Techland’s got ‘em all beat.
The Polish developer announced today a partnership with GAME UK to bring out the Spotlight Edition of Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition for the low, low price of ten million US dollars. It, of course, includes the game, and a role in the upcoming Dying Light movie.
Look, I’m not going to tell you how to live your life. Dying Light was quite good, and it sounds like the recent expansion was solid. If you’ve got a spare $10,000,000 to drop on buying your way into a movie, the money’s yours to burn. But c’mon, there’s no way a Dying Light movie is ever actually coming out. You can feel that in your heart, I know.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Techland’s offered up a ridiculously expensive one-of-a-kind collector’s edition. For the original release of Dying Light, they offered a ”Zombie Home Edition” edition that included a zombie shelter of your very own for roughly $386,000. A steal, in hindsight.
