When you're gunning for a game with a dark sense of humour, you can't get closer than adding a bit of festive cheer to thee managing of a dungeon. Welcome to War for the Overworld's December update.
Combining two updates into a single package, today sees the release of both the 'Crucible DLC' and Patch 1.5 'Trial by Fire'.
With the double-stuffed update comes a handful of new gameplay modes, more maps and units to everyone currently in possession of the base game. Those without, however, can grab it at a 75% discount through Steam's Daily Deal tonight once it resets at the usual 18:00GMT slot. But it isn't just the base game seeing a reduction. If you're wanting to grab the entire package straight-up, you'll benefit from a similar reduction once the sale goes live.
It might have been in a sorry state on release, but Steam reviews paint a good picture for War of the Overworld.
Now that the free Crucible update has landed, players can partake in the glorified survive mode to be pitted against waves of spruced up brutes. Democorns and Baron Von Pukemuch make a new appearance while 3 new worker skins will be offered to those braving the Crucible's 6-map challenge. There's even the triumphant return of Richard Ridings!
Again, you can pick up the base game or any other addition through Steam for a discount later today. The Crucible update, however, is free to all.
