DONTNOD Entertainment did quite well with their immersive story-driven, time-skipping adventure game Life is Strange last year. Yesterday, the studio released a limited edition of the game that featured several goodies. It seems DONTNOD has decided to make one of those goodies available for everyone: a new patch allows all players to play director’s commentary during the game.
The patch was released alongside the special edition of Life is Strange yesterday. It features a few bug fixes and a new subtitle option with language selector supporting German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Mexican Spanish subtitles. The top feature of course is the director’s commentary that can be played along with the game. It features one hour of input and discussion from various staff that worked on Life is Strange.
Unfortunately, it’s not the kind of commentary that works alongside what you’re doing in the game or any particular scene as it is an exploration of various general subjects involved in the making of Life is Strange. Nonetheless, it’s still a pretty interesting look into the inspirations, efforts, and challenges that make the game work. It’s also a totally free little bit of bonus content for anyone that already has the game.
Life is Strange scored fairly well in our review last year. If you checked it out and enjoyed the game, the director’s commentary is certainly a pretty good reason to revisit the game.
