Coming from the fine folks to destroyed the walls of genres and offered us every era of gaming in one slice with EVOLAND and its sequel, Shiro Games has attempted to mix quaint village building and combat with deep exploration with Northgard - a title heavily wrapped around Norse mythology.

Raking up over 1,000 reviews in its first week on sale through Steam's Early Access initiative, the future seems bright following Shiro Games reputation as a genre-bending indie development studio. Shortly after its release, Northgard managed to push ahead of consistent well-performers like Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League. Leaving For Honor in the dust despite being radically different, it's clear Shiro Games has the audience's support when it comes to keeping Northgard healthy and growing. Expect many updates to come, with each new patch being listed atop each other in this unified post.

Northgard Update - Patch #6
Northgard is beginning to feel like the next Conan Exiles with the frequency of its updates. With update 6 coming just a day after update 5, it's a good thing they're not having to patch a console release. That'd cost them.
Granted, due to the dev team being at PAX East, don't expect another patch for the rest of the week. Here's the lot:
- Disabled Victory conditions doesn't get displayed in tooltips
- No notification for AI blessings unlocks when Lore victory disabled
- Fixed Drag'n select with UI scaling
- Give proper error message for "Shader linkage error"
Northgard Update - Patch #5
Citing it as a small update themselves, the developers of Northgard still consider Update #5 it a worthwhile improvement over the game's last build. Bringing UI changes, victory condition alterations and more stability tweaks for those running integrated Intel HD graphics, there's actually more here than meets the eye. Here's the good stuff:
Changelog:
- General

- Technical
- Replaced "Failed to init GL" with proper error message when OpenGL could not initialize
- Added more tests/checks for "Shader linkage failure" and "Access violation"
- Fullscreen Borderless is now the default unless you check "Exclusive"
- VSync is now always ON by default
- Some additional minor fixes
Northgard Update - Patch #4
Finally dealing with a few of the issues developed through the use of Intel HD GPUs typically seen in cheaper laptops and pre-build PCs, players should see a few of their problems rectified. There's a few other oversights fixed too. Check them out below;

Northgard Update - Patch #3
Bringing launch crashes from 5% to 1% through the last patch, Shiro Games are on the home stretch when it comes to launch issues. There's vsync support, 4K HUD scaling and some code designed to further pinpoint any major issues going forward. Here's the lot;

- Dropped VS2015 dependency: you longer need to run (automatically or manually) vcredist.exe.

Northgard Update - Patch #2

- Fixed difficulties in placing buildings
- Fixed Helheim spawning (too many) Valkyries
- Fixed a few AI bugs triggering crashes
- Random smaller bugs.
Northgard Update - Patch #1
Coming a single day over the game's initial launch day, Shiro Games issued the Northgard's first numbered patch to address the main issue of the game simply not launching for some players. Steam achievements make their appearence, too. Here's the lot;
