Though we could have sworn it was already on Steam, TERA is back on the New Releases list to question our memories.
With it, however, Gameforge seem really interested in proving us wrong by announcing a "Steam Welcome Party" that acts as if they never left in the first place. Confusing.
Originally released back in 2011 as a standard subscription-based MMO, the teams behind its gradual EU and US introduction were likely betting on its active battle system justifying a monthly subscription at a time when most players were becoming infatuated by the idea of F2P MMORPGs. Though it released to general success, it wasn't long before player numbers began to dwindled, forcing the group to go the F2P route after all. So with it now being on Steam - for the second time, we swear - it's yet another free MMORPG available on the platform. There's far more visibility that way.

And to celebrate, there's a number of events taking place to entice new and old players to take up arms. Once telling you to take a break after consecutive hours logged in, they'll now reward you for each hour you play between now and February 12. Until March 5, you'll be picking up daily log-in bonuses ranging from anywhere between a trial run of its subscription service to fancy timed mounts. There's even a double EXP event on until February 12, too, to both coincide with its 4th F2P anniversary and to celebrate the influx of Steam players.
Though reviews paint a shoddy picture for the EU side of things when it comes to the development cycle and customer support, the game still gets updates every few months. There's actually more events than we can make sense of, so it might be worth checking out for yourself.
