Just a week or so after Volition shed light on the existence of their new post-Saints Row game Agents of Mayhem, they've put out a 90 minute livestream demonstrating the gameplay and answering questions.
Originally streamed on April 6, Principal Writer Jason Blair, Designer Ryan McCabe, and Producer Kate Nelson were around to shoot the breeze - and a couple of enemies - in this lengthy first-look.
Agents of Mayhem, for those who're currently unaware, is the next project from the team behind the incredibly successful and well-known madness sandbox that was Saints Row. Blending its unusual charms with that of something like Crackdown has resulted in a single-player mayhem simulator with a bunch of quirky, unique characters.
After Saints Row, Volition Is Back With Agents Of Mayhem - Its New Trailer Dates An August Release
Starting off the stream with a lengthy introduction, the stream team dives into around 1 hours worth of gameplay while switching out heroes on the fly and answering a few questions and they scale the city popping off foes. For one, being a squad-based game, you're able to select 3 heroes to bring into a mission. Each of these have their own individual resource pools with the lingering effects of their abilities sticking around when they switch out. Obviously the idea here is to repeatedly adapt to a given situation and make rapid use of the tools available through your character selections.
Currently pencilled in for an August release, we'll likely be seeing a lot more of this with it cutting a little too close to Gamescom. E3 it is!
Skip to around 22 minutes in if you're impatient for the goods.
