In March 2016 Paradox Interactive cancelled Hollowpoint, a 2.5D shooter from Ruffian Games the makers of Crackdown. Now it's back with a new developer Red Kite Games. They're managed by Simon Iwaniszak, who's previously worked at Rockstar Games on Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Red Dead Redemption, and L.A. Noire. Details and new trailer below.

Ubisoft is giving games away for free too!
You can watch the new trailer here, which makes Hollowpoint look like a cross between Contra and Shadow Complex, with a dash of Metal Gear, which sounds good to us. In the co-op focused title (although presumably there will be single-player too) you play mercenaries infiltrating procedurally generated bases with a mixture of stealth and assault. Your attack style supposedly will affect your next mission and any organisational relationships you have.
The previous version of Hollowpoint was cancelled in 2016 by Paradox Interactive, where it was being developed by Ruffian Games - the guys behind the Crackdown series. Now the Hollowpoint IP has been bought by new developer Red Kite Games, a British developer who have worked on titles such as God of War 3 and DiRT 4. Hollowpoint will be their first full game.
Simon Iwaniszak, Managing Director at Red Kite Games who previously worked at Rockstar Games, had this to say about the game:
"For us, Hollowpoint represents the chance for the studio to make a big splash with its first IP. Our intent is to combine expertly crafted combat and exploration fuelled by iconic weapons with a dystopian world stripped of all humanity. Fans of the original concept can be confident that we’ll be creating an exciting and action packed gameplay experience."
Paradox cancelled Ruffian's Hollowpoint in early 2016, saying " it became apparent to both parties that the creative vision for the project was diverging and so the decision was ultimately taken to cease our co-operation in order to serve the long-term interests of the game." Which never happened, since both Paradox and Ruffian Games no longer seem to have anything to do with Hollowpoint under new developer/IP owner Red Kite. Ruffian are currently working on Crackdown 3.
