Landing onto Steam Early Access in April of last year, it's finally time for Starpoint Gemini: Warlords to be considered 'feature complete' and ready for shipping. It's happening May 23 - but not before moving into playable beta.
Having been present and playable as an Early Access game for the last year, the sequel to Starpoint Gemini 2 has gone through 12 months of public changes and will scrape month 13 before unlocking the brunt of its content.
Having now reached beta, the price of access has risen to $29.99 with one final increase set for release date where the game will arrive at a $34.99 price point. With most of its main features now implemented and ready for player testing, the only thing awaiting those on release date - other than a price hike for those who waited for general release - would be the game's main story mode and 'pumped up planetary landings'.
Claim Ships, Stations And Even Planets With The Starpoint Gemini Warlords 'Planetary Assault' Update
As of the main beta update, the Starpoint Gemini: Warlords has received and all-new soundtrack to add a generous amount of that proposed 'pump' a little early. Space may be silent, but it doesn't have to be that realistic. Target locks have been redesigned through fan request and skills have been overhauled; again, at fan request. Faction side-quests have been implemented with the existing relay satellites offering more rewards - with raiding and conquests being tweaked to better reward those who partake.
Oh. And there's plenty of bug fixes, too. Of course, only those who've been playing past builds will know what to expect there. The rest just get a more stable first experience. Check it all out here. If you're looking for a taste of its prequel, Starpoint Gemini 2 is 85% off through Steam for the time being.
