ScummVM is an easy-to-use utility that allows modern PCs to play classic Adventure games such as the entire LucasArts library including the Monkey Island series. Now it's finally hit its 2.0 release and the team have added support for a further 23 classic Adventures, including most of the Sierra line such as Gabriel Knight and King's Quest, as well Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy spin-off Starship Titanic.

Our review of recent Adventure game Black Mirror!
The full list of games supported by ScummVM can be found here, but generally speaking if it's a remotely good adventure from the '90s it'll probably be supported now. Here's the additional 23 games now supported:
- Cranston Manor
- Full Pipe
- Gabriel Knight
- Gabriel Knight 2
- King's Quest VII
- King's Questions
- Leisure Suit Larry 6 (hi-res)
- Leisure Suit Larry 7
- Lighthouse
- Mixed-Up Mother Goose Deluxe
- Phantasmagoria
- Phantasmagoria 2
- Plumbers Don't Wear Ties
- Police Quest 4
- RAMA
- Riven: The Sequel to Myst
- Shivers
- Space Quest 6
- Starship Titanic
- The Dark Crystal
- Time Zone
- Torin's Passage
- Ulysses and the Golden Fleece
Certainly some interesting games in there. Fans of Douglas Adams should be pleased to see Starship Titanic on there, which was made with his direct involvement, included the voice of former Monty Python star Terry Jones, and was a spin-off of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. It's also a huge bugger to get running on modern PCs, even using the re-released GOG version, so it'll be good to play it again. Also note the sequel to Myst, the game of Jim Henson's classic The Dark Crystal, the Phantasmagoria series, and, less welcome, PC Gamer's "Worst Game Ever Made" Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.
You can download ScummVM 2.0 right here, and they've even got a few classic adventures for free if you want to try it out. We have and it's absurdly simple to use, without all that tedious mucking about in Dosbox.
In a wonderful sense of timing, the original LucasArts classic point-n-click adventure Maniac Mansion has just appeared to buy in Steam. If you buy it and it doesn't work, just download ScummVM and try it there.
