Friday the 13th: The Game got its first taste of single-player content today, as the latest patch adds an explorable Virtual Cabin 2.0 and bots for offline play. Most importantly though, this update also reveals that a new Jason skin and map for the game both based on sci-fi outing Jason X are coming to Friday The 13th in 2018.

The new patch adds the following to Friday The 13th: The Game:
- Virtual Cabin 2.0 - a first person exploratory "dev diary" of Friday The 13th with loads of secrets...
- Offline Bots - matches can now be played offline, with players controlling Jason
- Shelly Finkelstein from Friday the 13th Part 3 added as playable counselor
- Level Cap has been increased to 150 with new Jason skins, new kills, new clothing options for counselors and additional future content
It's in the Virtual Cabin that players have discovered the tease of the Jason X content coming in 2018. After solving a puzzle, the upcoming Jason X futuristic 'Uber Jason' skin for Jason Voorhees can be unlocked, and the bio for it reveals that a corresponding 'Grendel' map will be coming in 2018.
Grendel is the ship that Jason X is set on. While Jason X is a terrible, terrible movie, arguably the worst in the franchise, having a Friday The 13th map set on a spaceship is a truly exciting prospect. It would completely turn the game on its head - there's no boats, water, cars, cops, or open areas. It's a brilliant idea and we're excited to see it happen.
And now a look at Shelly in the game...
