Grand Theft Auto Online has adhered to a precise schedule for years now wherein every single Tuesday would see as new in-game event, and often new content. This week lacks the latter, but makes up for it with one of the largest in-game discount offerings the game has seen, and by doubling the payouts for one of the most lucrative activities available to players.
Last year saw the release of the Gunrunning DLC, a major content pack which added bunkers and a weapons trafficking business to GTA Online. Said business is still one of the better ways to earn money in-game, and it’s most certainly the best for the next seven days. As part of the current event, called Contraband Week, which lasts through the 16th of April, all Gunrunning selling missions - that is the missions you do to sell off your illegal goods - will reward twice as much GTA$, the in-game currency, and RP, the game’s equivalent of XP, than usual.
Last week’s content drop included a new variant of races called Target Assault, and was the subject of a similar double-reward scheme. While that promotion was set to end today as the new event rolled out, Rockstar Games has extended it for this week as well. Target Assault is a mode that combines racing with target practice as teams of two drive weaponized vehicles. Additionally, all bunker research projects will be completed at a +50% rate.
Each GTA Online event brings with it a number of in-game discounts. On offer this time around are the game’s rolling fortresses, the Mobile Operations Centers, as well as the bunkers from which you’ll be running those sell-missions which offer the double rewards. A selection of vehicles, including the relatively new Pfister Neon, are also on discount, as are various upgrades.
