A possible sequel to the Sonic Racing series, which includes the excellent Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, was teased at the Sonic SXSW Gaming Panel today by SEGA.
The video teaser can be seen below consists of car sounds and a logo - shaped like the classic Sonic emblem, with the word "Racing" just about visible next to the illuminated 'R'.
How fans are fixing Sonic Forces with Mods!
The last Sonic car racing game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed in 2012, was very well received - and in our opinion is certainly the best arcade racing game on PC, in the absence of Mario Kart. SEGA though were very quick to say that the new Sonic Racing is not a sequel to any previous game, so we're not sure what this game will play like.
It is interesting though that only the 'R' was illuminated, since Sonic R was one of the only main console racing games where the characters ran and didn't use cars.
Also announced at the show was Sonic Mania Plus, an expanded edition of last year's retro throwback (and one of our game of the year nominees) Sonic Mania.
