Zen Studios’ Operencia: The Stolen Sun is due to release soon on a swathe of new platforms. Previously available only on Epic Games and Xbox One stores, Operencia is set to release on Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam and GOG on March 31st 2020.
Operencia: The Stolen Sun’s bills itself as an “unconventional” fantasy, drawing upon Central European folklore and storytelling and aiming to amalgamate them into one cohesive world. Many of these stories, Operencia claims, have never before been depicted in a video game.
Beyond the setting, Operencia seeks to pay homage to classical first person dungeon crawlers, with a variety of characters, locations, challenges and enemies. Altogether, the game’s stated aim is to create gameplay that is: “unique yet also familiar”.
Tying into the game’s unique setting, replayability is also emphasised with a variety of modes included to allow the player to explore the game’s levels in full.
