Publisher Ubisoft and developer Blue Byte have unveiled the Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass which will introduce 3 new DLCs to the city builder throughout 2020.
While, usually, post-launch content development for Anno games stopped after a year, the Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass was made possible by the more than 1 million players who took on the challenges of the industrial revolution in the first nine months since the game’s launch.
Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass DLC
The first Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass DLC will be titled Seat of Power and will add a new building in the shape of a gorgeous palace.
Aside from adding to your city’s aesthetics, the palace will “house several departments, each giving you not only a passive bonus but also the pick of several policies that you can use to influence different aspects of life in your city”.
Anno 1800’s Seat of Power DLC is set to launch on March 24. Alongside it, all players will receive the free Game Update 7 which will add three separate difficulty tiers for the influence system, giving players more control over the game’s difficulty levels.
The feature will be automatically applied to existing saves, asking players to choose their favored setting when first loading up the save after the update gets applied.
The second Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass DLC is called Bright Harvest and looks to enhance farming. Set to launch in Summer 2020, alongside a free update that wasn’t detailed, the DLC will make your farmers’ lives easier by allowing them to use industrial equipment when working their farms.
To this extent, tractor modules will not only increase the overall productivity of farms but also reduce the required workforce. This can also lead to more space being freed in your city.
Keeping your tractors working does, however, require a steady supply of fuel. Lastly, the Bright Harvest DLC will also come with its own set of farming-and-industry-themed ornaments.
The third and last Anno 1800 Season 2 Pass DLC, Land of Lions – touted as the game’s biggest DLC – will introduce a new Africa-inspired session and continent but also new citizen tiers, buildings, production chains, and quests.
Land of Lions will feature a new story following Emperor Ketema’s attempt to turn his drylands into farmable soil. Players can aid him using the new irrigation system that lets them “make smart use of what little existing water there is on the map to construct a network of canals and fertile patches of soil”.
Land of Lions doesn’t yet have a release window but it will also be accompanied by a free update and will have a large impact on the old world than the Passage DLC did.
