After multiple events throughout the year, free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends has kicked off its Christmas Holo-Day Bash event that comes with a number of new skins giving characters festive looks, and even turning one of them into Santa Claus.
The Apex Legends Christmas Holo-Day Bash event started on December 12, and is set to last until January 7, 2020, giving players quite a bit of time to chase its skins and other rewards.

Here is a short overview of what the Apex Legends Christmas Holo-Day Bash event has in store for players:
- Limited Time Mode - Winter Express
- A non-Battle Royale point-capture mode featuring three teams of three
- Exclusive event challenges with free earnable cosmetics, including two Legendary weapon skins
- Town Takeover - The Mirage Voyage
- 24 Event Limited premium cosmetics available directly for Apex Coins and Crafting Metals and available through Holo-Day Bash Event Packs
- Pathfinder Heirloom Set Preview
- Unlock all 24 Holo-Day Bash Event Pack cosmetics during the event and unlock the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free
- Double XP Weekend
Delving deeper, the Winter Express limited-time mode sees three teams competing to capture the festively decorated World’s Edge train.
Winter Express gives each legend a different loadout, removing the need to loot. Dead players also respawn, being able to change their Legend in between lives. On top of that, loadouts change daily. The winner is the first squad to reach three captures.
Holo-Day Bash also introduces its own batch of challenges that can get you skins, badges and music packs.
Apex Legends is also getting a new Town Takeover, this time focused on Mirage. His party boat, The Mirage Voyage, can now be found at the World’s Edge, with a hot tub, dance floor and a pushable button that, seemingly, starts the party.
Like prior events, the Christmas Holo-Day Bash event adds new cosmetics to Apex Legends. We’re looking at 24 limited-time items, available through direct purchase but also in Event Apex Packs.
Unlocking all 24 gives you the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free which will become available as an Apex Pack bonus after the Holo-Day Bash ends. You can find more about item drop chances over on the game’s website.
Lastly, between December 13 and December 16, Apex Legends will host a double XP weekend.
