Apex Legends is now out as a fully free-to-play battle royale from the makers of Titanfall, and it's not particularly odd if the hype machine got to you too. After all, what's the harm in giving this wacky new thing a try, since it's free and all?
Here, you're going to find out how to how to download Apex Legends in no more than a few clicks of your mouse, and start playing fast-ish. Depending on how fast your Internet connection is, anyway.
How to Download and Play Apex Legends on PC?
If you go to the official Apex Legends website, and click on the big 'Origin on PC' option, you're not going to simply be sent over to the Origin website to download it, in case you don't have it. Instead, the option downloads a separate installer that then prompts you to download and install the Origin client if you do not yet have it.
So, basically, the procedure would be as follows:
- download the Apex Legends client
- download Origin (in case you do not yet have it)
- install the game as per usual
- start the game, let it proceed with the download and patching procedure
- you're done
Alternatively, you can also find the game by typing in 'Apex Legends' into the search function of your Origin client, which is the more obvious, and clearly simpler solution. It is odd that an additional installer is deployed on the game's official website, too, but what can you do.
That ought to get you all suited up to finally start the game and see what Apex Legends is all about. Of course, Origin will need to run since it's an EA game, but that's par the course by now. Stay tuned for more guides on Apex Legends really, really soon.
