While its system requirements don’t exactly require players to bust the bank for a last-minute upgrade, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s file size is much larger than that of previous entries. For reference, Black Ops 4 came in at around 55 GB, with 112 GB recommended for its installation process. Not only that, but COD: MW is even bigger than Read Dead Redemption 2, a game known for its large open world and attention to detail.
We don’t yet know if the size refers to the one required for the installation process or if you’ll need to permanently reserve 175 GB for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare once it’s out. Either way, it’s probably best to start clearing up some space.
If the title sounds eerily familiar, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a reboot of 2007’s Call of Duty 4, perhaps the most recognizable title in the series. The reboot has established itself as willing to take on a more mature tone, while hinting at familiar events from the 2007 game. Captain Price is also confirmed to be making a comeback.
On PC, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25. The title is currently available for pre-purchase on Battle.net.
