Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Colossal Order today announced that Cities: Skylines 2’s patch 1.0.11, the first of many planned post-launch updates, is now live. Its patch notes reveal a variety of changes and tweaks targeting the level of detail, depth of field, and more.
Cities: Skylines 2’s patch 1.0.11 is available at the moment only for the game’s Steam version, but the developer is working on bringing it to Microsoft Store users “as soon as possible.”

While the team behind the game admits that the rather small update doesn’t address all the issues it has on its radar, it nonetheless remains a welcome first step towards improving the game experience for players who’re already designing their dream cities.
Here are all the changes and tweaks included in Cities: Skylines 2’s 1.0.11 update, as per the patch notes shared on the Paradox forums:
- Changed LOD to be independent of rendering resolution to get more consistent performance with high resolutions
- Minor optimization with fog
- Depth of field optimizations and tweaks
- Global illumination tweaks
- Optimized stutters when buildings spawn/level up
- Optimized various stutters across all systems
- Fixed crash after upgrading wind turbine
- Fixed crash when car crashes into still hidden car with trailer
- Fixed crash with mesh loading (that happens with low settings mostly)
As Cities: Skylines II’s patch 1.0.11 introduces the first set of much-needed improvements, broader plans to improve performance have been detailed alongside the settings we should lower first to increase our frame rate.
