Cities Skylines has been around since 2015, and since then, we’ve seen many patches, bug fixes, content expansions, and so much more added to the game. However, we’re about to get an even bigger, better, and more exciting addition to the franchise – City Skylines 2.
While the gameplay trailer was only recently dropped during the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, many have already been dazzled by its realistic graphics and, of course, are excited to get their hands on this city-building simulator game.
Fortunately, Paradox Interactive has released a roadmap presenting what they have planned for the future of the game. To help you stay informed, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about the roadmap for Cities Skylines 2.
Cities Skylines 2 Roadmap Revealed - What to Know
The Cities Skylines 2 roadmap covers upcoming planned content coming to the game in 2023 and 2024. From an all-new San Francisco Set, Beach Properties Asset Pack, Content Creator Packs, Bridges and Ports Expansion to Radio Stations, the game promises a wide variety of things players can look forward to.
Content for 2023
Alongside the game’s release on October 24, 2023, a San Francisco Set will be instantly available in the game to those who bought the Ultimate Edition. This set will include a Muscle Car Garage building, five different Muscle car models, a police vehicle, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, and the San Francisco map itself.
The roadmap also reveals the addition of the Beach Properties Asset Pack that will make its way to the game in the fourth quarter of 2023, featuring “everything you need to bring life to your waterfronts.” As the name suggests, this includes a vast collection of luxurious beach assets to build beach housing areas, adding to the life of your city.
Content for 2024
Here’s when things get more interesting. In the first quarter of 2024, players will be greeted with content creator packs called Urban Promenades and Modern Architecture. These packs include 30 assets each, and what makes them so unique is that they’re essentially crafted and handpicked by the Cities Skylines’ favorite community creators.
And finally, after a long wait, players can enjoy a new set of tools to build stunning bridges and lighthouses thanks to the Bridges and Ports Expansion Pack that’s releasing in the second quarter of 2024. With over 100 new assets and the addition of Marine Industries, this pack will allow players to find new ways to expand their city.
Outside of these major updates, there will also be a Deluxe Relax Station coming in 2023 and Soft Rock Radio and Cold Wave Channel joining the game in 2024. All in all, it looks like the game’s packed with loads of content worth looking forward to in the upcoming months after its release.
